2011 Residence camp

Several boys had their last chance or attending residence camp this past summer and made the best of it.  It was a western theme.
Special thanks to Joel Mansperger who attended from another pack.  Without him, we would not have had enough leaders.

2010 Better in Mentor Parade 1st Place Finish!

Not only did we have strong showing of Cub Scouts this year at the parade, but Our Pack 79 was the 1st Place winner in the best community organization of the parade!  Candy was being thrown like mad in the beginning but good planning by our scouts helped slow us way down before the halfway point and make it through the parade so everyone could enjoy!  A jolly good time was had by all!!

2010 Residence Camp - Stambaugh - High Seas

This past July seven boys from Pack 79 and one from Pack 179 ventured south to Camp Stambaugh for four days and three nights of Cub Scouting.  The day had activities scheduled from breakfast till dinner time.  The boys built crafts (aquariums & treasure chests), shot bbguns and bow and arrow, swam and began working on a functional catipult.  Saturday evening was a campfire where the boys put on a skit in front of the entire camp and visiting relatives.  Our group consisted of our boys and a sister pack out of Newbury, Pack xyz.  The name of our crew was Man O' War.  A crafty member from Pack xyz came up with a dity which we same whenever possible.

Man O' War,   Man O' War
Sailing the seven seas what for
        North, South East and West
Learning to do our very best

After the campfire, the leaders treated the boys to homemade ice cream.

Things they will rememeber from this adventure......
What the water tastes like.
The cub master asking how many times they peed that day.
(It was very hot and hydration was extremely important)

Special thanks to Mr. Finucan for picking up eight cases of water!
