Boy Scout Camp for Webelo II Crossing over

Please keep in mind that this is just for information purposes.  When the boys reach that level additional information will be available then.

Boys who will be crossing over into Boy Scouts and continuing with Troop 727 have an opportunity to start raising money and signing up for Summer Camp and participating in activities by the Troop.

Parents, as Boy Scouts, your boys will have an opportunity this year to go to Summer Camp at Camp Wehinapay there website is located here for more information:
http://www.nmscoutcamp.org/index.html

Please be advised that this is going away camp. That is you have to be a trained leader to go with them to camp.  This may be the first outing on there own but we are here to help you get answers to all your questions.

Where:     Camp Wehinapay
Location:   About 10 miles From Cloudcroft New Mexico
Cost:         Youth     $300
                Adult      $100

All finalized payments will get an e-mail on the website to sign up for activities.  Many activities get filled up quick so the sooner you finalize payment the sooner you will be able to sign up for your favorites. Activities include merit badges in several items and fun activities for most.

All boys and adults must have a current medical BSA form filled out before they depart to camp.  A copy must go to the troop and a copy to be turned into the camp.

All registration and payments will need to be made to the Troop 727.

Attachments of the form are on this page. Also attached is the leader info from last year. I do recommend that you take a look at it since it contains lots of information about the camp and the activities.  Many of the boys may not qualify for the more high adventure items since some have age and rank requirements.
Items discussed in the leader Packet are:
  • Camp Rules
  • Payment and Refund Information
  • Medical information
  • What to bring and what not to bring to camp
  • Merit Badges offered in the past
  • First Year Camper program
  • Adult Program Activities and Training
  • Example of a Scouts Itinerary for the day and week.
  • Any extra possible costs.
